In honour of International Women’s Day I thought I would give a little book review of Layla. This was the first book I read by Colleen Hoover and it won’t be the last. This one is a three cup read for me - I liked it, but I have mixed feelings. I don’t think I would read it again, the writing left me wanting more, it was too simplistic and left much to be desired; I’m also not a huge fan of insta-love at all. I can see how other people loved and enjoyed this book and I can also see where people have disliked this book.
It’s time for a #shelfiesunday! Every month I completely re-organize my shelves in order to add new books that I bought the previous month. I also take some time to go through my books and donate the ones that I’m no longer interested in reading, or ones that I won’t be reading again. I organize my books based on the author’s last name. I also went through all my items and decided what I want to add to my shelves for the month - I normally go based on the seasons, or if there’s a special holiday within the month.
Happy Saturday! It’s that time of the week where I show off my stack of (some of) my YA books! I’ve always loved YA, there’s just something very comforting about it and I find myself returning to it time and time again.
My weekend plans include drinking lots of coffee/tea and reading “The Minders” by John Marrs. I usually finish his books in about a day if I read without any breaks. What are your plans for this weekend?
