Outside the Blogging Life
I’ve had a busy and stressful week. I didn’t go to work on Wednesday due to the schools being closed because the elementary school teacher’s union was on strike for a day. School is starting to pick up more and become more demanding. I have more in-class assignments, and online labs and quizzes to complete every week on top of my on-campus classes. It seems like most of my classes have some sort of online component now, which means even more work!
I’m finding it more difficult now to find time for everything that I need to do while not compromising on my sleep. I’ve struggled for years to find the right sleep schedule and to find what works best for me and my body. I’ll have to try out different ways to better manage my time between school, work, reading, and working on this blog and reviews.
I had a very busy weekend. On Saturday my sister had one of her wisdom teeth removed. She’s never had success with oral surgeries; her mouth bleeds a lot, and her face swells dramatically and sometimes she’ll get a black eye from the freezing. She had one tooth removed yesterday morning, but we went back a couple of times to the dentist because the bleeding wouldn’t stop and she could barely open her mouth for me to remove and replace the gauze. We stayed at the dentist for an hour for her to be monitored because the bleeding wasn’t stopping quickly. Once the bleeding slowed, we went back home and I made sure she began to take the medications the dentist prescribed to her to help with the swelling and the pain. It was a long day and very stressful for both my sister and I. I always hate to see her in pain, and I tried to help her relax and not move around too much.
Today I’m working on some of the online component of my courses – online quizzes and labs. I’m also updating my reviews on NetGalley and on Goodreads; it seems like I’ve fallen behind on posting my opinions on these sites. Somewhere in all that I plan on reading a bit more of Payback by Emma Rogers which I hope to have completed by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.
I hope all of you lovelies had a fantastic week; I can’t wait to see what this upcoming week brings us!
It can be hard to manage so many demands on your time, I hope you find a schedule to suit you soon.
I hope your sister is recovering.
Wishing you a great reading week.
