An Unthinkable Thing did not read like a typical thriller, which was very refreshing to me when other thrillers follow similar plot points. I thought that this leaned a bit more toward literary fiction, and in some cases, it fell a bit flat and dragged on for some chapters. I really needed time to sit with this book to fully grasp the nuances of the family dynamic.
