The first month of 2021 is finally finished and behind us! It wasn’t very memorable to be honest.

I’ll start off with a COVID update… With nothing new to report. I’ve stopped watching the news everyday because my mental health was tanking. I reminded of when I had the news on constantly during the middle of March when it was declared a pandemic. My mental health tanked then too. I’ve accepted that we’re in this for the long haul and that the restrictions in my region might not be lifting anytime soon.

Now for some bookish related news: I’ve been reading more! According to Goodreads I’m 3 books behind schedule to read 100 books this year. I’m almost done Layla by Colleen Hoover, and I have plans to finish an eBook later this week. I have some short books that I also plan on reading to get caught back up.

When I’m not in a reading slump, I’m in a baking slump! I made cinnamon buns from a recipe, then I altered it to better suit my needs and they turned out great! I just need to play around with how long they need to be in the oven for and they will be perfect. I have one more item that I want to try making this month, it’s a Hungarian pastry which I made once before years ago.

The jobs search continues! I applied for one job and on internship last month – that’s all that I could find. I also did send out my resume to some random jobs on Indeed with no luck. This month seems promising as I’ve seen some posting for Internships pop up this past week, so I’ll be re-writing my cover letter for those. I’ve also been helping my friend who’s in Teacher’s College with her assignments. I’m still loving volunteering for MuggleNet.com, I get to use my HTML skills! I enjoy coding and the challenges it presents. I’ve also been using some HTML to edit my posts as well.

That’s it for me on this update! Thrilling month, I’ve had, right? Every month can’t be full of surprises and action-packed though! I can’t wait to see what February has in store for us, probably another month of lockdown and more COVID fatigue.
