There are so many great books that are being released this month. I pre-ordered a couple from my local bookstore and Chapters/Indigo. Let me know what books you’re looking forward to this month!
The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah is a historical fiction novel that takes place in Texas 1934. I have never read a novel that is set in this time period in the U.S. and deals with the Great Depression which I learned about in school. I’m not doing the summary justice for this novel, but I can’t wait to get my hands on it! I’m always looking for fresh new takes on historical fiction!
The Project by Courtney Summers is a young adult/thriller novel. I’ve seen a lot of posts about this book on social media, and the premise just sounds so interesting to me. I haven’t read a novel by Summers yet, and I think this might be my first one!
The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles I requested this book on NetGalley last year as it’s the type of historical fiction book I’m drawn to. It’s told in two point of views and has to do with libraries/librarians during World War II and is based on a true story… I’m all in! Anything to do with World war II and books/libraries I’m all over it.
The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna is a Young Adult Fantasy novel about sixteen-year old Deka who is different from everyone else in her village because of her unnatural intuition, Deka prays for red blood so she can finally feel like she belongs. I’ve seen high praises for this book already on my socials and I can’t wait to read it!
The Minders by John Marrs is my most anticipated release this month. I love all things John Marrs, and I know he won’t disappoint with this book. The Minders is so relevant today, I feel like all of Marrs books speak to some aspect of today’s society which is probably why I love them so much. The Minders is about five people who are tasked with thwarting cyber terrorism, they have been turned into the secret keepers of the most sensitive and secretive information which is implanted inside their heads as genetic code. Someone has discovered who these five are, and they are being hunted and killed. I can’t wait to get my hands on this book!
The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey is a science fiction/thriller novel and about clones. I tend to stay away from science fiction, it’s not my favourite genre, but this book sounded too good to pass on. The clone is of the main protagonist Evelyn Caldwell and is everything she is not… There’s not much to go on with the synopsis, but it sounds like a ‘ fun outside of my comfort zone’ read.
Some Other Now by Sarah Evertt is a young adult contemporary novel (I was really digging YA when I complied this list) that is advertised as “This is Us for teens.” It follows Jessi whose caught between two brothers as the three of them navigate family, loss, and love over the course of two summers. I’m a sucker for family drama and YA novels, especially emotion provoking novels which it seems like this one will be.
Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers is a contemporary romance which was first put on my radar back in the fall when my old marketing teacher (she works for Harlequin Canada’s marketing department) featured it on her Instagram. I knew I needed to read this book ASAP. It’s now floating around on my socials and I can’t be more excited to pick this book up!
Let me know if there are any books on here that you’re excited about or ones that I didn’t include. I’m always looking to add more books to my TB. Happy reading!
