Outside the Blogging Life

It’s been another busy week for me, which means I didn’t get a lot of reading done. I did get a lot of other things done though, like the mountain of laundry that I keep putting off. I’ve done one or two small loads, but today I’m tackling the mountain! Some of the clothes have been in the laundry hamper since before Christmas. This week I finalized the set-up of my new desk and put a lot of office items and paperwork that I don’t need into storage bins.

School has now taken a considerable amount of time out of my blogging and reading schedule, but I’m tweaking my schedule for when to post and I’m going to have to set time aside to read. I have a backlog of books that I need to review and to read. Once I’m done my job I’ll have more time to do the things I actually enjoy. I’ve got a student loan coming in to help with my expenses this term, and then I go on my co-op which will be paid and will be full-time.

I’ve been tossing the idea around to go into marketing; I’ve really enjoyed my marketing class so far and I find it far more interesting and more challenging than my other courses… Minus math of course. I got an 88% on a quiz this week which is exciting! I’m finding it easier to complete my math homework and it’s a lot less anxiety inducing than when I first started taking the course.

This week is more of the same, but I don’t work on Wednesday. The elementary teachers are doing rotating strikes in Ontario due to lack of negotiating with the Ontario Government. As I’ve said on previous posts, I like to keep politics out of my blog, but I have a lot of negative thoughts concerning the Ontario government and teaching cuts. It gets me very angry and upset when I see what the government is doing to not only the teachers, but the students as well.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend; it snowed all weekend and is still snowing here in London Ontario. It’s a perfect day to make some tea, get wrapped up in a blanket and read some novels. I think I’ll do that after this mountain of laundry is done and I do at least one course reading for next week.

Have a super Sunday!

  1. Gosh, I’m out of clothes in a week if I don’t get the laundry done, and with four kids I do at least 5 loads a week anyway.

It’s insane how cavalier politicians are with education, despite ample evidence supporting its importance.

Wishing you a great reading week
