Outside the Blogging Life

It was the final week of work before I have two weeks off for Christmas Break. There was nothing too special that happened the children that I supervise were hyped up on sugar which made for a very interesting week. The children’s parents gave me some very nice gifts this year, one family gave me three small jars filled with different jams, and I received lots of chocolates and gift cards.

I’m really thankful that I get two weeks to spend with my family. I’ve really missed them over the past couple of years when I lived 3+ hours away with no real easy way to see them. I plan on eating lots at my Christmas dinner on Tuesday night. Today I spent most of my day in the kitchen making four different cookies – gingerbread, sour-cream cookies, gingersnap, and Christmas cookies. It was an all-day affair! Tomorrow I have to make a rum cake and an eggnog cheesecake. I’ve never made a cheesecake before so it should be an adventure! Tomorrow my sister and I are also doing last-minute Christmas shopping. I’m hoping that I can sneak in some reading time before bed tomorrow and on Christmas Eve.

I have some exciting news that I’m dying to share with you all, but that will be in another post later this week sometime. I’ll also do a post-Christmas post, my family takes A LOT of pictures of our Christmas, even though there’s four of us, five if you count my cat, that will include our Christmas traditions and what our typical Christmas looks like.

Is there anything that you do for Christmas/the holidays that’s special? What are some of your favourite Christmas/holiday traditions?
