My Week in Review

This week was super exciting! I didn’t work my morning program on Monday morning due to negotiations finally being settled late Sunday night. I felt mixed emotions – I wanted a week off to read and work on this blog, but I also wanted to work and interact with my kids. So Monday was a weird day-  I got to sleep in, but I had to go and work my afternoon program where the kids were super squirrelly and rambunctious.

On Tuesday at 2:30am my boyfriend and I get a call from his sister’s husband saying that she went into labour. We threw on some clothes and rushed to their place. We were there in case their son woke up in the middle of the night (he’s 2). I called in sick for the morning because we didn’t know how long her labour would last and I was already exhausted and excited. She gave birth at 3:50am to a healthy baby girl and they were home around 6:15am. We spent until 8:00 hanging out with them and meeting their new baby who is just too precious.

The rest of the week went by slowly, but I did manage to finish The Testaments and boy do I have THOUGHTS!! I’ll be writing an in-depth review this week and I’m hoping it will be ready for next week. I’ll just say that it wasn’t what I was expecting.

This weekend is Thanksgiving here in Canada and I’m looking forward to eating my weight in stuffing. That’s my favourite food when it comes to Thanksgiving and Christmas. What’s your favourite food to eat during holidays? I’ll be having two Thanksgiving dinners this year – one with my dad, sister and his girlfriend and her family, and the other with my boyfriend and his family. Thankfully we plan on doing nothing on Monday when I’ll have time to digest my food and hopefully finish Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk.

That’s it for me this week! Next week is a short work week; I have a professional learning session on Wednesday between my two shifts which should be exciting. I can’t remember what it’s about off the top of my head, but I get paid to attend it.
