My October 2019 To-Be-Read Books

This month I tried to come up with a theme for the books I plan on reading. When I think of October I think of pumpkins, cozy reading socks, blankets, and a good scary book. It didn’t exactly pan out the way I wanted since I started reading The Testaments this month, but the rest of my books are thrillers or have some elements of “spookiness.”

The first book that I plan to read is The Testaments by Margaret Atwood.

My second novel this month is Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk. I started to read this late in September, but then The Testaments book arrived and I just HAD to read that first. I’ve been thinking about what I read so far in the novel, and I can’t wait to get back to it!

The third book in my pile is The Chestnut Man by Søren Sveistrup. I’ve seen this book floating around on my social media feeds and I just purchased it last week. I’m excited to start reading!

My fourth book is Dracula by Bram Stoker. I tried to read this book several years ago and I just couldn’t. I think I hyped myself up too much about it; I had to read it in my bed, with my back against a wall during the day.  I’m curious to see if I’m going to have that same reaction this time around.

My fifth book is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. I’m hoping that I can read this on Halloween since it’s one of my shorter novels this month.

Have you read any of the books in my TBR this month? What is your favourite Halloween/spooky book?
